Same case with Maharashtra and CR/SCR. CR canceled a lot of intra state trains in the ZBTT.
Whenever there is a demand to run an intra state train from Mumbai to any town within Maharashtra, CR will give all the possible excuses from lack of Slots to platform availability in Mumbai etc etc but it will readily introduce specials and new trains to the north. CR either introduces some weekly intra state specials running on odd days with odd timings which will get low patronage or will simply extend existing trains.
