2-Rail electrification work is going on with GC on entire section as a part of DAL-KSJ RE, As of now 800m section is left because of no certificate of working in forest area from PTR
3- Recently NER got NOC for electrification for that 800m region and also for SG-PBE forest region near MALA station.
4-Work is going on in full pace and expected deadline for completion is Dec 2023 but looking at the work it may take 2 more months to complete GC so in my opinion by FEB 2024 section will be converted to BG and by March 2024 we will have complete electrified route.
It will provide a route from LJN to KGM, TPU, MTJ, KSJ which will be entirely North Eastern railway. 2024 is going to be a big year for the people of Sitapur, Lakhimpur, Gola Gokaranath, Pilibhit, Budaun and KSJ..
Post completion 15009/10 GKP-MLN express can easily be extended upto PBE and 15043/44 can run on this route.
please wait...Translate to EnglishYo, here's the update on the MLN-PBE GC as of Aug 15, 23.
1. The section for GC was closed on May 31, 2018. After 5 years, the MLN-SG GC is finally done. CRS even inspected the section last year.
2. The rail electrification work is still ongoing for the entire section as part of DAL-KSJ RE. Only 800m is left because they don't have a certificate to work in the forest area from PTR.
3. Recently, NER got a NOC for electrification in the 800m region and also the SG-PBE forest region near MALA station.
4. The work is going at full speed, but the expected deadline for completion is Dec 2023. However, judging by the progress, it might take another 2 months to finish the GC. So, in my opinion, the section will be converted to BG by Feb 2024, and by March 2024, we'll have a fully electrified route.
This will provide a route from LJN to KGM, TPU, MTJ, KSJ, which will all be part of the North Eastern railway. 2024 is gonna be a big year for the folks in Sitapur, Lakhimpur, Gola Gokaranath, Pilibhit, Budaun, and KSJ.
Once it's done, the 15009/10 GKP-MLN express can easily be extended up to PBE, and the 15043/44 can run on this route.
