What are the timings of Indigo at Benguluru and Shivmogga, Are they convenient and reduce travel time over rail considering 40km to Airport at Benguluru check in timings.
Compared to a sbc smet train Frankly No Significant difference in Actual Travel Time. Morning Flight 9am from BLR , 11am from Shimoga(RQY)
well after the initial buzz this flight is Going to be used mostly by those who are not going to BLR..
More Flights Soon under Udaan
Spicejet To BLR,HYD,DEL,Chennai

To be honest, there are lots of these airports that have come in various parts, but I have hardly seen much reports which give details on which of these are doing well or not.
After the initial hype slowly you will see lesser flights, more fares and so on

Agree. Kadapa Airport most Likely to Close down from mid OCT due to non payment Of Govt Subsidies to indigo. click here
As for shimoga we have to wait and see. SMG is Centerally located in KA this Surely Going To Help

During initial phase all these flight services to attract customers will offer lower fares and so on but it is known that it is not sustainable in the long run. I dont know the exact details but at least 75-80% occupancy is considered break-even. An Indigo ATR flight on an average has 80 seats. Considering 80% occupancy at least 60 passengers need to be there daily. Hoping that that many passengers will be there everyday. The airport also needs other infra like cafeteria, transport and cabs which are all dependent on passenger traffic. So if passengers are less everything else gets affected.
