Making a travelogue here after a long time. :p
This train was cancelled a week before my trip and a week later as well. This led to large nos. of cancellations and upgradation of my ticket from SL to 3A. This is the first time my ticket has gotten upgraded. Apparently, my coach had lots of people who had upgraded tickets. Anyways, the train was rescheduled 2 hrs late from source itself.

Gomti Nagar station in Lucknow was once a single line halt station; now six platform mammoth and multiple construction work still going on. The station sadly, still lacks much and few stuff is available there. The train featured a sparse look with lots of seats empty. I had a lower after upgradation [ lost my side lower, sadly] and sat there but the side lower remained empty until Bihar came. Few before boarded from Gonda or Basti. Even Gorakhpur gave little passengers. Only when nightfall came and we entered stations like Siwan, Chhapra did the crowd began to enter and the coach became full. Either case, I slept and opened my eyes somewhere before New Jalpaiguri. The train had a thirty mins stop at New Bongaigon since loco changes[ it doesn't go the direct route to GHY instead taking a loop]. I got out in the heavy rain hoping to capture the loco but the rains lashed like anything stopping me from going to the front.
I footplated the way as we scaled the end of the journey around GoalPara Town. We also crossed the massive Brahmaputra river around this route. We reached KYQ ~3 hrs late. The station seemed to undergo renovation, especially at a couple of platforms. I took a few images, will upload soon.

Sadly, the station still lacks a lot of stuff and there's only a few things available there. The train was pretty empty with lots of empty seats. I got a lower berth after the upgrade [sadly lost my side lower] and sat there, but the side lower remained empty until we reached Bihar. A few people got on before that from Gonda or Basti. Even Gorakhpur had hardly any passengers. It wasn't until nightfall and when we reached stations like Siwan and Chhapra that the crowd started coming in and the coach got full. Lucknow ke Gomti Nagar station pe pehle sirf ek line ka rookna hota tha; ab wahan chhey platform ke bade bhaari station hai aur kai construction ka kaam abhi bhi chal raha hai. Station par afsos ki baat hai, wahan par abhi bhi bahut kuch kam hai aur kuch samagri uplabdh hai. Train mein kam log the aur bahut saari jagah khali thi. Mujhe upgrade hone ke baad lower berth mili [bichwali lower, afsos ki baat, gayi]. Maine wahan pe baith gaya par wahan ki bichwali lower berth Bihar tak khali hi rahi. Kuch log Gonda ya Basti se pehle hi train mein chadhe. Gorakhpur mein bhi kuch kam log the. Bas jab raat mein aayi aur hum Siwan, Chhapra jaise stations mein pahunche, tab crowd chadhne lagi aur coach bhar gayi. Train New Bongaigon mein tees minute ke liye roki thi kyunki engine badalne ka kaam tha [ye direct rasta GHY tak nahi jaati, instead ek loop leti hai]. Humne GoalPara Town ke aas paas safar ka ant kiya aur raaste mein humne Brahmaputra nadi ko bhi paar kiya. KYQ pe hum ~3 ghante late pahuche. Station ko kuch renovation ka kaam hote hue dikha; khaaskar kuch platforms pe. Maine kuch tasveerein li, jaldi hi upload karunga.
