Another Accident.....
A passenger train from Visakhapatnam derailed in Viziangaram district. 3 coaches derailed.

This is what common people are talking about, signalling which is killing punctuality of ordinary trains coupled with introduction of VB in that route are adding woes due to overtakes. Though trains are running at 130kmph the PSR at junction stations being 15kmph are killing the time saved.

segregation of regional and intercity tracks is the way out.. just like mumbai .. then the other solution would be standardized train sets.. running of LHB and ICF trains with goods train on the same track won't solve IR s problem..
WB also pointed that .. india should now focus on introduction of point to point .. level and track segregated services..

Precisely thats the crux of my point. Pls anslyse the running of delhi metro, rapid rail or bullet trains world wide. All these mode of transport has minimal breakdowns as these trains are backed by robust infrastructure. However IR is trying to run 130 kmhr but infrastructure is poor. And to add to it trains are running on saturated routes. Here the Loco pilots are at the running of poor infrastructure and operational constraints.
Latest update is 14 passengers Died and more than 50 passengers injured.
there are set of standards for tracks , signaling system and other operational procedures & aspects which are applied and tested.. Post that IR approves 130 kmph operations..
and i tell you , these standards are stricter than US.
Indian operations are on conservative side..
nevertheless we can not just ignore what is happening.. we should look out for exact cause.....
