See how things changed once upon a time this place was capital of great cholas and now remains almost forgotten ! With its magnificent temples, palace, and other places nearby it seldom makes one get bored. I was fortunate to have visited three times in my life in 80s, 2004 and recently in 2016. It is fascinating to know that both Madurai and Trichy have history that are more than 2000 years old.
