Howrah Rajdhani has gotten so much slower in the last 20 years. When I went to Delhi in 2003, the timings were HWH 16.15; NDLS 09.45 - it took 17.5 hours and went at 83 kph. Then when I traveled again in 2014, the timings were HWH 16.55; NDLS 09.40 - it took 16 hours and 45 minutes at 87 kph. But now it's taking an extra 20 minutes, and it takes 17 hours and 5 minutes at 85 kph. The NDLS-KOTA route only has 4 Rajdhani trains, but it's way faster than the NDLS-CNB route which has 13 Rajdhani trains (3.25 times more than the NDLS-KOTA route). The average speed of Rajdhani in the NDLS-KOTA route is 103 kph. The average speed of Rajdhani in the NDLS-CNB route is 98 kph (which is 5 kph slower than above).
