Old days. There was a Bheramara-Damukdia-Jalangi-Lalgola Ghat Line during 1940s. After partition Bheramara-Damukdia line was dismantled while Damukdia-Jalangi-Lalgola Ghat line was washed away in 1948 Floods.
Darjeeling mail used to depart at 17.45 hrs from Sealdah that time, taking 11 hrs to complete 520 kms journey to Siliguri via Gede-Poradaho-Iswardi-Santahar-Parbatipur. Amnura train was Rajshahi Express, which used to depart Sealdah at 18.45 hrs, arriving Amnura & Godagari Ghat at 04.45 am, with a BG link train to Katihar via Rohanpur-Singhabad-Bulbulchandi-Malda Court-Kumedpur. 07.45 hrs train to Siliguri was called North Bengal Express, which used to take 13 hours to complete the journey, with a MG Link train to Katihar via Parbatipur-Dinajpur-Barsoi-Mukuria.
