I was joking. Of course I know that most passengers would prefer a MEMU or ICE over a VB any day. There is a reason why hardly few people use the Lucknow Shatabdi to commute b/w Lucknow and Kanpur.
Couldn't agree more. Travel between BBK-LKO-CNB is now tougher than what it was a decade ago. They were touting metro as an alternative but even that hasn't covered Lucknow even, let alone extension outside. What's more important than VB is upgradation of speeds of tracks[which helps ALL trains] and doubling and tripling of tracks[can't stress this enough. This literally opens up entire new avenues for Railways and even passenger trains run on time then. Plus, moving freight also becomes easier on triple lines]. But rather than invest in long term solutions, they are investing in short term gimmecky affairs.

Your opinion 100% true and sensible. CNB-LKO-BBK travelling was much better 5 years ago by present day scenario.
Vande Bharat as a concept which is faster with current infrastructure is a good option but if IR upgrade infrastructure and doubling/tripling/quadrupling will help each and every train.
When we have not technology to see signal aspect inside locomotive we can not achieve our mps and we have to simply brace for delay in fog. No any train like VB, shatabdi, rajdhani will spare from it.
