The train was later rerouted via Purulia-Kotshila-Muri-Chandil-Tatanagar. The Hatia-Kharagpur Express was canceled, while the Ranchi-Howrah Express and the Hatia-Tatanagar Express were rerouted through Muri-Chandil-Tatanagar. Around 100 protesters sat on the tracks near Bahaldar Road station between Adityapur-Gamharia and Maluka-Dangoaposi stations in the Chakradharpur division. The movement was called off at 12:20 PM, restoring rail services. The protesters also blocked roads at various locations in Karndi, Tata-Hata route, Rola Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Saraikela, and Chaibasa-Ranchi route. The ASA president, Sal Khan Murmu, claimed that the bandh received support not only in Jharkhand but also in other parts of eastern India, including West Bengal and Odisha. Murmu stated that the tribal community had no other option but to call for a bandh as their demands were ignored repeatedly. He argued that the Sarna religion, a faith based on nature worship, represents the identity of 150 million tribals in India. He further claimed that the 2011 Census listed nearly 5 million tribals as following the Sarna faith, while Jainism had only 4.4 million followers. Despite this, Jainism was recognized as a separate religion, while Sarna religion remained unrecognized. The Jharkhand Assembly had passed a resolution in November 2020 advocating for the recognition of Sarna as a distinct religion in the Census. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda responded to the ASA's bandh call, urging them to raise their demands on appropriate platforms instead of inconveniencing people. He warned that such disruptions would only cause inconvenience to the public.

Iske bawjood, Jainism ko alag dharam ka darja diya gaya, lekin Sarna dharma ko aaj tak isse vanchit rakha gaya. Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha ne November 2020 mein, census mein Sarna ko alag dharam ke roop mein maanayata dene ki vakaalat karte hue, ek resolution pass kiya tha. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda ne ASA ke bandh call pe kaha ki agar is tarah ke vyavdhan jaari rahe, toh logoon ko asuvidha ka samna karna padega. Aam logon ko is tarah pareshan karne ki jagah, Sarna dharma ki maang ko uचित mंच पर uthani chahiye.
