The overhead equipment (OHE) wires snapped due to a broken joint, causing a 4-hour disruption in rail operations between Kota and Sawai Madhopur. Passengers were stranded for hours. The train's pantograph was also damaged, and the train was brought to Kota using a diesel engine. Several other trains, including the Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani, Nizamuddin-Mumbai August Kranti, Jodhpur-Bhopal, Jaipur-Chennai, and Amritsar-Mumbai Deluxe, were also delayed due to the incident.
