22678 KCVL-YPR weekly express follows the path of 12683 ERS-SMVT and 12778 KCVL-UBL which dont touch CBE. This train can be diverted. Similarly not sure what is the issue if Allp-MAS is diverted when CBE already has two dedicated trains like Nilgiri Exp and Cheran express one behind the other. Other trains mentioned like Kerala express and ERS-PNBE should be going to CBE. I think going forward PTJ will be the next big terminal and better connectivity needs to be provided so that passengers can board from here as well
CBE representatives put pressure and added stops of TVM mail Allepy express and some trains to Kerala which pass at midnight both sides and few takers to both Chennai or kerala. Cheran and Niligiri arrival and dep at convenient time and most travellers prefer them. Diversion of day trains or long distance should be avoided. In Coimbatore the city particularly new generations has expanded towards airport road then towards Podanur.
Yes not sure what is the reason for Allp MAS and TVC Mail having stop at CBE when Nilgiri and Cheran almost originate from CBE territory and have lots of quota, seats available whereas Allp MAS and TVC mail might not have that many seat availability. Going forward most likely PTJ will become a important terminal. There were some reports on considering changing its station name to CBE South as well
