The construction for alternative DC line begins!
As per the news received ,
The 28km new line will go through Chandrapura - Telo - Gomoh rail flyover bypass - Matari and merge in the grand chord
The project was sanctioned in August 2023 and supposed to be completed by March 2027

The DC line won't be able to sustain until 2027.
If it not sadly regulated ASAP, there could a potential huge disaster waiting to happen on that line.
Atleast 12019/20 & the weeklies should be diverted via Gomoh for now on.
12019 originally ran via GMO, it should be restored ASAP.

the working TTs would have to be severely modified because trains would have to be passed with even lesser speeds.
Atleast they should construct a FEDL between DHN & TELO else the traffic DHN-GMO section would be held up.
DC line has a substantial traffic on it's own mostly comprised of freight train that will clog up the Grand Chord traffic severely especially on the down line if this present alignment is followed with.
And the proposed doubling of the PEH-PKA tracks is a lost cause now, it is a little to late for that. They should have constructed two new lines from PKA to TELO imo to mitigate the entire problem so that the Grand Chord traffic remained unaffected.
Already the ASN-DHN section has been substantially slowed down over time. Now imagine further slow downs would be needed at PKA, DHN & TELO/GMO following the current alignment!
