I booked SBC to Jam via DR on 2 occasions.
Firstly, I booked 2 different tickets from SBC to DR (6530) and then DDR to JAM through IRCTC website. The total cost was 2460.00 for 2AC.
Second time - Went to counter and booked from SBC to JAM in the same above trains, But this time I was charged 1876.00

as the direct and long distance tkt u took u will get less amt. in tkt. Meanwhile when u book tkt from PRS then they consider this tkt as single tkt and hence the difference of IRCTC amount is diducted form here.
Even if you book 2 different tickets from SBC to DR (6530) and then DDR to JAM through PRS counter . total charges will be almost around 2460.
but second time you booked a single ticket with onward journey so fare was less as Mr. Harshal said.
SBC-DDR -> 1076 kms - 3AC fare - Rs. 958
DDR-JAM -> 817 kms - 3AC fare - Rs. 811
So total comes to Rs. 1769
