Sir if you are planning to explore and if you are travelling from North then I would suggest you to take Karnataka sampark kranthi from Pune(I'll tell you from Pune) enjoy the shindwane ghats and reach Bangalore from there take YPR-KAWR till Murdeshwar enjoy the temple, surroundings, beach and visit idagunji, Gokarna reach Karwar visit naval base take a train towards kerala from there prefer day journey to enjoy the beach side ride, explore the land from thrissur to thiruvananthapuram, from here you can reach tamilnadu and explore the land,

No I too don't know much bcs I'm from Karnataka Bengaluru, but as per recent news the trial run has been done and yeah it should keep it's magic whatever the development done.
