I want to ask from the Members of IRI is Indian Railways is a profit making body or a big loss making sector? Where government spends lots of money but not get much revenue.

Overall Indian Railways is a Loss Making Body
out of 17 zones only 4-5 zones are able generate profits because of freight operations are SER,SECR,ECOR,SCR rest of them are loss making
