There's no link between extension and RSA. Bgl Ndls weekly had RSA with Bgp Aii weekly but still that train was extended to Godda. If some MP/MLA decides to use his power to get any extension, no zone can stop him irrespective of whether the train has a RSA or not. Rather than focusing on whether trains will be extended in future to Balurghat or not, I believe the focus should be on providing better connectivity to Malda.
Both, 12349/50 BGP - NDLS weekly SF Express and it's RSA partner 13423/24 BGP - AII Express were proposed by ER to be extended to Godda. The same was approved by RB as well. Then, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey asked for Humsafar as it was in trend at that time. So, RB approved for convertion of 12349/50 into Humsafar and extension till Godda. Thus, BGP - AII Express got the dedicated LHB rake and it got spared from extension.
