According to the order issued from Garden Reach on May 13th, 375 Guards (Train Managers) will be promoted from various departments, while 827 Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs) will be promoted from ITI and Diploma holders working as technicians in various departments under the Safety category. The departmental examination is being held on a large scale after three years to fill the vacancies in the railway zone. This will increase the grade pay and many other benefits for the railway employees. The order also includes age relaxation for OBC and SC/ST railway employees in the departmental examination. To ensure safe train operations, the railway has started a campaign to fill the vacant posts of Assistant Loco Pilots and Guards. Earlier, a survey of vacancies for Station Masters, Junior Engineers, Technicians, and other positions was conducted, as the Railway Recruitment Board had sought reports on vacancies according to the category. It is noteworthy that in the Chakradharpur division, the running staff cadre was reorganized and 729 Loco Pilots were added in three categories to ensure the availability of drivers for the increasing number of trains.
