I am a Canadian tourist, plan to travel with train, how can I book or reserve a seat?
You can book through www.irctc.co.in....
You can also book through reservation counters set up in bigger railway stations in India, if you are already here. One advantage you will get from reservation counters through foreign tourist quota. Incase tickets are not available normally, you can use this quota.

Advance reservation Period has been increased to 120 days from 90 days
1) Try setting up an account with IRCTC. But wouldn't work if you do not have a Indian Mobile Number.
2) Try booking at the PRS Counter.
3) Try to contact a registered IRCTC Agent or any other businessman involved in this business.
4) Try to avail Foreign Tourist Quota (If available for the particular train/class of travel/journey leg) once you arrive at India...
