Compared to the same period last year, this represents a 0.51% increase in detected cases and a 0.82% increase in revenue. During the current financial year (2024-25), three surprise ticket checking drives were conducted between April and August with the assistance of railway magistrates to crack down on unauthorized travel. The magistrates filed cases against 167 individuals and imposed fines on 161 for violating railway regulations. These fines included fares, penalties, and government charges. The total amount collected from these three campaigns was ₹10.58 crore. Passengers traveling without proper tickets or exceeding their authorized travel distance are subject to additional charges and fares. Failure to pay the penalty when demanded constitutes a default.
