Recently found out that the Vande Metro (VM) introduced between Bhuj and ADI is a completely unreserved train. Why was an unreserved train introduced as an ICE?
Vande Bharat (VB) trains turn out to be the contemporary version of Shatabdi trains meant for premium intercity travel, and VMs being unreserved AC trains turn out to be nothing but modern AC MEMUs?
What about the most widely accepted form of reserved intercity and janshatabdi trains? No contemporary trainset versions for them?

I don't seem to question the rake length. 12 coach AC MEMU can turn out to be successful on various routes I guess, noteworthy being NDLS UMB, NDLS AGC, NDLS TDL, ADI BL, BCT ST, DR NK, DR Pune, MAS RU, HWH ASN, HWH KGP, LKO CNB ALD etc.

In these Koi nhi jayega dost , 200 kms me people will prefer AC CC or 3A on similar fare.
Bekar concept hai.
4-5 VM max chalegi till VB sleeper comes , just an eyewash to keep public intrigued. Same with AB trains.

Vande Metro services offer excellent fares; however, in my personal view, I don't believe the 12-coach rakes will operate at full capacity. Perhaps one or two routes, like ADI-MMCT, may see higher occupancy, but beyond that, I doubt it, as passengers tend to prefer booking CC or 3A tickets for longer journeys exceeding 200 kilometers.

Additionally, these trains will only stop at select stations, unlike MEMU services, which stop at all. This could be a drawback.

In my opinion, Vande Metro trains should have been scheduled to stop at all stations except halts, as this would improve occupancy. The majority of MEMU passengers come from smaller stations, and they travel to larger stations (cities). At the very least, small stations should have benefited from these changes like VB, AB, VB Sleeper, VM. They should've gotten SOMETHING, atleast.

There must be an option of CC/ 3A available, and also, I believe not all opt for them. It all depends upon the fare.
I really don't compare intercity travel with Memu travel. The "class" and "purpose" of people travelling are extremely different.
2S or second seating is the most widely accepted coach for ICE travel. If they introduce VM with a fare slightly higher than 2S, I do expect people to shift, given they get a "reserved" seat.

All this meanwhile what I want to say is, we cannot compare intercity travel with Memu travel. Intercity travel is between two cities for various reasons, but Memu travel is mainly from suburbs and rural areas to the nearby big city.
Hence, while people are expected to prefer 2S/ CC/ SL/ 3A for intercity travel, it is just the UR/ 2S coach for the Memu travel. Thus, VMs might revolutionize the Memu travel, only if they're implemented that way.
