HI,
I am student from bangalore, as part of my academic project i'm building a database for indian railways, could you please assist me in doing this.
Also i was trying to calculate fare for shatabdi trains based on the distance and type of train, for shatabdi and rajdhani trains alone i wasnt able to arrive at the exact fare. what are the catering charges for shatabdi and rajdani and how to arrive at the total fare.

look for a normal 2/3 ac fare in a superfast non rajdhani train. the difference in fare is the amount for catering etc. similarly for shatabdi express - look for ac chair car and find out the difference. other costs are the same. for e-g for travelling delhi-mumbai try fare in Paschim Exp, or Golden Temple & compare with Rajdhani. Similarly delhi-dehradun (or some other destination) look for ac chair car (delhi kanpur) like janshatabdi/gomti and compare with shatabdi. trust this clarifies the position.

But again i am not arrive at exact fare. i checked for delhi to bangalore rajdhani and compare with non rajdhani express, but i am unable to get exact fare. Accoring to ur clarification i did same steps. eg. Exact Fare for delhi to bangalore rajdhani exp for 3A is Rs 2120. I have a fare chart depend on distance and class the base fare is Rs 1656 + development chg Rs 60 + Difference Amt 244 i.e Non rajdhani exp =Rs 1960. In this...
