more... ease congestion on the Varanasi-Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Junction route, which is currently heavily congested due to the transportation of goods like coal, cement, and foodgrains, as well as the growing tourism and industrial demands. The bridge will also be flood-proof and will extend for 15 kilometers on both sides of the river to prevent traffic disruptions due to floods. The project is expected to increase the existing network of Indian Railways by 30 kilometers and is in line with the Prime Minister's vision of a New India, which will make people of the region 'Atmanirbhar' by way of comprehensive development in the area, enhancing their employment/self-employment opportunities.
