the train scheme of "jan shatabdi" should be scrapped. they are no different from other trains. charging more fiar than other m/e is unfair for jan shatabdis. no added benfits either. all jan shatabdis should be turned into m/e and should have an option of telescopic tickets...
i.e. the precise reason...so that no telescopic ticket cant be issued thus to increase the Railways' earnings....already they're under debt
only difference with intercities is that Jshtbs don't have GEN class.....so good suggestion sir.
but janshatabdi is a fully reserved train so if it is converted to M/SF then it will no longer be fully reserved and people will face problem because of lack of reservation. Moreover janshatabdi's run at a good speed and if they are converted to normal SF trains then there is a genuine chance to decrease the speed by IR.
regarding unreserved passengers...majority of tkts of almost all jan shatabdis are issued by unreserved ticketing system. u stand in queue in the ur counter. say to the clerk u want a tkt of js and u ll get a tkt. you get a seat or not is not of his concern. plenty of passengers go standing all the way in pnbe hwh jan shatabdi and hwh barbil jan shatabdi...
regarding speed...plenty of superfast intercity and some normal m/e too run faster than jan shatabdi...the tag looks attractive bt is not necessarily fast...rajdhani, shatabdi, duronto stands upto their name...jan shatabdi doesnt...
