Hello I am from Australia and need to get from Bangalore to Mysore. I can get there by train or bus, does anyone recommend the train trip over ctaching a bus (I am looking at Karnataka Road Bus)? What are the trains like travelling as a foreign tourist?

Dear HD,
in some posts i have seen you recommending 1A for foreigners. may i know the reason for that. I have seen so many foreigners who travel in ordinary sleepers/JS Chair cars and have not faced problems. In this case, the travel time is approx 3-4 hrs and can be easily done in Shatabdi CC (why 1A? or Exe.CC). do you have any specific reason for recommending the specified class? I am sure we all Indians do help other passengers (some bad elements are there, but not all are bad) and are not so bad.

curious to know the reasons because, if i remember rightly, in some other cases also, you had recommended similarly. thanks and pl do not misunderstand.
