If there are two routes from point A to point B and two different trains are operated, say like Mumbai and Delhi ( there is WR and CR route), which distance will be used to calculate the maximum allowed distance for telescopic fare?
Thank you in advance

wow, thats somewhat unfair! thank you for the precise reply. Atleast its good that IR considers its own trains to be telescopic and dont charge us more if they dont have train on shortest route!

The shortest route will be considered for telescopic fares....so in case of Delhi-Mum WR route will be considered...

Depends on the clerk. Usually it is the shortest route but one may also choose the longest possible route to calculate the fare.

Clerk will ask you firstly the train name and then it will totally depend upon train by which route it is going..!
