AFAIK, general tickets are not allowed for GR too, like Shatabdi. It is fully reserved train. So, i dont think taking a general ticket will help in this case.

Thats the rule. But if some TTEs in the train allows you, you can travel. But you need to take a risk by buying ticket (which might not be useful later)

Bhavnagar express never starts at 4 AM. It is always delayed by one hour as it got plenty of time to reach vijayawada with no halt between RJY and BZA. I travelled by this train from rjy to sc but always took the train around 6.30 AM. If you trust this train you will miss Gharibrath at slo. You take the earliest bus around 5 am from Kakinada to vsp and you will reach in time
