Railways will undertake non-interlocked and yard-remodelling work at Shoranur junction for 28 days from April 4 in connection with track-doubling between Shoranur and Karakkad railways stations.The doubling of the stretch will avoid detention of trains at Shoranur and Karakkad for crossing and Shoranur-Managalore junction stretch will become double line, according to Railways.One more platform (No.7) will be available at Shoranur and it will be able to accommodate rakes with 24 coaches. As many as six pairs of long distance express trains and a passenger train will skip Shoranur junction during the period.
