Ticket also got auto upgraded from SL to 3A (good that I checked the PNR status after chart preparation).... Coach composition for Indore bound trains is as follows... loco-gen-SLs-B2-B1-A1-gen

first of all, you need to check the auto upgradation checkbox while booking.. only then your PNR will be considered for auto upgradation.. auto upgradation rarely happens and that too with mostly single passenger PNRs.... You must check your PNR after chart preparation... Even if you don't check, the TTE will let you know... but you may have to contend or even fight with other passenger who might have occupied your original seat till the TTE arrives because you don't know that you have been upgraded... ! Once I was upgraded from 3A to 2A. I had not known it beforehand but I got to know from the TTE before anyone came to my original seat... !
When you would see the chart for you coach,other persons would have been alloted your seats.So on contacting the tte you can know your new seat nos.
normally, people with confirmed seats (at the time of booking ) don't see the chart, especially boarding from a station where the halt is just 2-3 minutes..
Yes thats true but when one would go to the seats we will find other persons sitting there, so we can contact tte and he may tell us the seats.
