I took the YPR - Puri Garib Rath last Sat and at BZA took my kids along to watch the Loco change.
I was surprised to see the Loco being changed was WDG - 3A and questioned one of the engineers participating in the Loco change about the Loco being used for a Passenger train.

Thanks friend!! Were the engineer's assertations that a WDG loco having both pipes can be used to haul a passenger train correct? Did I get the colours right?
yes, Brake pipe - Green and Feed pipe - White. wdg locos are used many times to haul passenger trains mostly wdg 3a and wdg 4..mostly offlink .
moreover the wdp-4b , the loco which is used to haul passenger trains is the upgraded version of wdg 4 ..the only difference is the weight of the loco, nothing else.
