Now I think with GOC getting a few WDP 4Ds the SHF n LHF matter can come to a close. For that first KR should also have a diesel loco shed with only 4Ds and ensure all locos running in KR should have dual cabs. Diesel loco problems are for a few years until KR completes electrification of d route...
As for track factor there is not better way than constant maintenance......

didnt clearly undrstood wat u hav said about the engines. Pls cn u make it bit more clear. Wat are those modes?
SHF means short hood front ie drivers cabin is towards the trains movement and LHF means long hood front ie drivers cabin is away from the trains movement and is at the backwards position of diesel engines.
this terminology does not apply to electric engines and diesel locos of WDP3a and wdp4d class since they have dual cabs ........
in the LHF mode there are problems with visibility especially in cases of EMD locomotives.......therefore Railways do not permit the LHF running loco to go beyond 110......
