WDM3D Honk Fest with 12025 PUNE-SC Shatabdi Express:
An early morning action at a very small station BGVN on Central Railway. My 51027 CSTM-PVR Fast passenger was put in loop for more than 15 minutes and it was for the Big boy of Pune - 12025 Pune-Secunderabad Shatabdi Express. After 15 minutes on a beautiful morning, at 7 10 AM appeared the mighty WDM3D#11348 of the PUNE shed, admist the beautiful chirping of the birds. It was not at its best though, speedwise, moving past at just 60-70 kmph. This is my first catch of any Shatabdi Express train.

PUNE-SC Shatabdi express is the second fastest diesel hauled Shatabdi express after the 12041 HWH-NJP Shatabdi express. I still feel that 12025 does a brilliant job considering the fact that it has to travel through single track region for 70% of its journey. PUNE-WADI route is the busiest route in this region with heavy passenger and frieght traffic, yet, 12025 does a brilliant job covering 597 km in 8h 40m with an average speed of 68kmph. Sadly it is a ignored train by the railways and gets the old ICF coaches. Also there are lots of complaints about the train regarding its cleanliness, food quality and coach conditions. Hopefully railways look at this train and gift it with the LHB coaches soon. Never the less ENJOY THE ACTION.
