I booked a Tatkal Ticket today from TBM to MDU in 12652 Sampark Kranti Exp. Journey Date - 26th July Friday. Today I saw that this train is running more than 9 hours delay. if this is the case on Friday I want to take some other train / bus to go to MDU. Please suggest whether refund possible on Tatkal tickets due to late running of train like what is happening today...What is the procedure?
full refund for trains running >3 hrs late but then u hv to wait for actual departure of train and then file tdr.
With the official rule that allows you full refund, here's a word of caution. There have been cases of IRCTC rejecting such TDRs with the illegitimate reason of "No refund applicable for Tatkal tickets".
The SR website rules say "in case of e-tickets, the TDR is filed online before the actual departure of the train for availing full refund." But is this applicable for Tatkal E Tickets? Please confirm... How to firmly identify actual delay status of a train?
the actual delay will be known only after train comes to station.
