very right, one of the trains should be extended to guwahati. atleast pune- patna should be extended as it runs empty throughout the year barring peak season.

pune patna does not run empty. Its easy to get tickets on it when compared to Azad hind or jhelum. Typically people who dont get confirmed tickets on gorakhpur/ varanasi/ darbhanga expresses end up in this train filling it up the last couple of hours. And lets get this straight, very few trains (barring intercity trains ) do actually fill up at the starting destination itself.

There is no need for a bihar bound train to be extended to guwahati..
There will soon be a digrugarh-pune train via raipur-nagpur.
