A general query from members. Normally it is observed that many times when express trains overtake good trains at railway stations, the trains generally take the loop line whereas the goods train is parked on the mainline. Is there any kind of guideline /rule from railways in not allowing goods train on the lines in which the platforms are ??. The trains generally have to slow down for such crossings when they take the loop line.
at most stations PF / Loop Line is not enough to hold entire Goods train. So, they stop d Goods on Main line and allow Exp trains to over take from loop line
