chalsa was a junction of meterguage sec ..
but now chalsa - matiali railway track is abandon ...
but railway is still using the name " chalsa jn " , they have plan recovery the old track....

For everyone's confirmation this snap is captured just @ Chalsa outer...one can see the slope of the hill alongside the existing BG track...The Old Metre Gauge track used to lie in that slope till Metelli....but with the present alignment of BG section & the difference in Soil heights,it'll be very difficult to revive the MG section...still we need to see whether authorities have any plan or not...As of now Work on New Mal Jn Changrabandha has been completed long back,but the first DEMU services is yet to commence.
