i am afraid you have given wrong/incorrect information about change of boarding stations.
Even if a passenger has booked his tickets and wishes to change the boarding station, he can do so by going to the nearest Reservation Counter alongwith the ticket and id proof of hte passenger with written application for change in boarding, atleast 24 hours before scheduled departure of train. The boarding change can be made.
