once i was told by a Head TTE onboard ALD DURONTO...that if u arent having any ticket (w/l or general),u buy a PLATFORM ticket from the station u r boarding the Rajdhani and take the guard certificate from the guard and board the train...Platform Ticket + Guard Certificate is necessary for boarding the Rajdhani..

agree...i too have spoken to Bangalore Rajdahni head TTE once , and he said U can board rajdhani with platform ticket provided seats are available in current..but he didnt say anything about guard certificate ...might be he gave incomplete info ...

For Bangalore Rajdhani, The fine is Rs 4900 for 3rd Ac As told by on onborad TTE on 30th Oct. 2013

yes exactly...only when seats are available...Guard certificate is required,guard will only issue the certificate only if seats r available...if the person doesn't have the platform ticket point to point fare + fine will be charged

I boarded BCT ADI shatabdi in July 2011 with a ordinary ticket. TTE charged me for 100% fare plus 100% penalty for BCT to ADI, although I deboarded at Vadodara. Total 1400 when fare between BCT and ADI was 700. Zero credit for unreserved ticket.
