This bridge becomes operational in 1881. It was said that the construction was not able to sustain and every time get damaged. So some priest suggest to the british engineer that if a Brahmin is sacrified then it will sustain. No one was ready, so a Brahmin was murdered. the same brahmin is haunting this. This bridge on Howra - Delhi main route is still operational after 133 years and there are no near plans for its alternative.
