Dear members, I have a question. I have a reservation by 2S on the brindhavan exp from Bangalore to Chennai. Can I get down at Arakkonam and travel by the EMU bound for Chennai Central and get down in between, let's say at Ambattur using the same ticket. Or should I be buying a fresh ticket at Arakkonam. Please let me know the rules.

Usually a regular mail/express ticket works on local trains but vice versa is not true.

As i know, a reserved ticket is valid only for that train in which reservation is done. Journey is not permitted in other trains. If it was an unreserved ticket, he/she is entitled to travel in EMU on the basis that its a lower fare one.
