Hello,
I have ticket booked from Pune to Burhanpur via Bhusawal.
The connecting train (as per ticket - train number : 15017) is departs from Bhusawal at 13:50.
I will reach Bhusawal by 8:40am (train number 11039).

have learnt that there is another passenger train that departs from Bhusawal at 9:00 am.
So, I am planning to board this passenger train.
Can I travel by this passenger train on the same ticket? Or do I need to purchase another general ticket for this passenger train?

With ur detail, it seems u have reservation in both train but 9 AM departing train!!
U need GEN Ticket for the passenger train, as u cant travel by it with existing ticket:(
