How does the Waitlist confirmation works for the trains?
I booked by ticket through IRCTC on 19/10/2010 on AC-3 at wait list 11/12, still the wait list is 7/8, where as I can see wait list is moving on and lessening day by day.
For example, yesterday AC3 wait list number was 37, which is 33 today but I am still at wait list 7/8.

I agree with you Balaji. The original blogger has posted the sequence of numbers in reverse order. Hence I posted this way for his easy understanding. Alternately we can say we have to look for the higher number only for future reference and that it would be static and would not move.
