tatakal quota indicates 10, 66 & 175 berths for 2A,3A & SL. but while opening in irctc all classes were REGRET, today. how does this MAGIC take place ?????? :)

njp to cbe, but the quota availability was the same for ghy to tvm as well.
should be. today , tried for vivek exp from counter and was lucky to get. lesson learnt - stand in front of counter for tatkal, rather than sitting in front of irctc with broadband connection
great.....rule might be different for Vivek Exp....were u able to book tickets from New Jalpaiguri or some earlier station?
i booked it from njp. was second person in the counter. during my first option for 3A, i missed. when tried again for 2A i got it. i.e i didnt get from 12 berths, but i got from 3 berths, after one full minute (time printed in ticket 10:01).
may be becoz may keralites didnt prefer it, as the train may reach only 25th morning and its obvious that people prefer to be with families and visit church 24th night itself

Totally agree with you. By the time if you are lucky to come till the 'Make payment' stage, the status would have already shown as regret. For tatkal tickets online booking is a big risk especially if it is a high demand train. best options take pain, stand in the counter
