what is the procedure for booking e-tickrt can anyone elaborate because i have never booked e ticket but no i want to book it

Register as an individual. Registration is FREE.
Login by entering your user name and password.

To get the fare, click on class avaliable in the selected train under "List of Trains".It will show fare according to type of class selected. The fare appearing is for a single adult Passenger excluding the service charges charged by IRCTC and by the Bank(Credit Card/Direct Debit).

Enter the names of the Passengers, age, s#x and berth preference for each Passenger. The maximum length of names should be restricted to 15 characters. If the Passenger is a senior citizen (60 yrs and above) and wants to avail Senior Citizens' concession (30% of Base fare), click the box provided. Senior citizens are requested to carry some proof of age during their journey. A sample form is reproduced below. (The allotment of your required berth depends on the availability).

That is not a must. You can note the PNR and board the train with valid ID (for one passenger) TTE will issue a ticket by charging Rs 50
The accommodation booked is not transferable and is valid only if one of the ID card noted above is presented during the journey.
The passenger should carry with him the Electronic Reservation Slip print out. In case the passenger does not carry the electronic
