The Railways is indeed rruun by dumb and blind creatures. It is no secret, the Railways does not recruit personnel on merit. As a result, most of the deciision making lacks simple logic. There is politics all over the place. Take for instance, Thivim railway stattiion on the KR route. Thiis is an "A" category station, with a single niight train to Mumbai. Whereas, all "B" category stations on the KR line except Karrmali have 2-3 night trains towards Mumbai. I had put this question via the PG portal. The shameless authorities went to the limit to advise me that the no of train halts at Thivim were more than enough and even advised me why more halts cannot be introduced. In a matter of a few weeks, the Pune Ernakulam SF was given 3 additional halts in the neighboring state and 2 of those...
