Interoperability of outstation train tickets in Mumbai local/suburban trains:
I have a AC 2nd Class ticket on Udyan Exp from Bangalore to Dadar. I actually need to go to Thane but Udyan doesnt halt at Thane. I plan to get down at Kalyan and take an onward local from Kalyan to Thane. Is my Udyan 2nd AC ticket valid in Mumbai local 1st class if its on the same travel segment?
Where can I find the rules of such ticket interoperability?

Nope... as per the rules your reserved ticket is valid only for Udyan Express. You need to get down at KYN and purchase a local ticket. I face this situation every time when I return back from Bangalore by Chalukya..
