Highlights of Railway Budget – 2014-15 for SCR
South Central Railway has got a sizeable share of the new Express trains announced in the Railway Budget 2014-15, presented by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, in Parliament today i.e on 12th February, 2014.

more... SCR. It constitutes a significant 28% share for SCR of the total new Express Trains announced on Indian Railways. It is noteworthy that out of these 15 trains allotted for SCR, 8 trains either originate/ pass through the stations in twin cities.
It is significant that both the Double Decker Express Trains announced in the budget are allocated for SCR. It is the first time that a Double Decker Express Service has been announced over SCR. These trains are going to be operated on Kacheguda–Tirupati and Kacheguda–Guntur routes.
In addition to new Trains, all the 3 Express Trains for which frequency has been increased in the Rail Budget belong to South Central Railway. These are – Vijayawada to Hubli Express; Bidar to Yesvantpur Express and Secunderabad to Hubli Express Trains, for which the frequency will be increased from 3 days a week to daily.
Apart from the above, Surveys for doubling of two Rail Sections on SCR have also been included in the Rail budget. These are – Latur Road to Kurduwadi; and Parbahni to Parli single line sections.
