This is regarding query on break journey
I have a confirmed ticket in Train No. 16315 in 2-AC coach from SBC to KYJ (725 km). The train starts from SBC on December 1 at 17.00 hrs to reach KYJ at 07.00 hrs on December 2.
There is an intermediate station ERS, which the train will reach at 05.00 hrs on December 2. I wish to get down at ERS and board another daily train 16303 (starting at 05.30 hrs on December 2 from ERS) to reach a station called TRVL at 06.30

hrs on December 2.
Do I have to purchase additional ticket from ERS on December 2 (up to TRVL) in order to travel in Train No. 16303 or can I use the same ticket which I purchased for Train No. 16315?
Note:
1. 16303 also goes to KYJ but I am getting down at TRVL which is well before KYJ.
2. Distance between SBC and ERS is 625 km.
3. Distance between ERS and TRVL is 86 km.
4. Ticket is purchased for 725 km while I want to travel only 622+86=711 km.
Can I perform this break journey? Please suggest.

If a train departs at 13.00 hrs from a station, how long back can I book reserved ticket from the reservation counter. I came across a news saying that we can book tickets prior to 30 minutes from departure. Is it applicable for counter booked tickets?

Of late, I came across “PT” for some trains
12864/Yesvantpur-Howrah SF Express (PT)
12658/Bangalore-Chennai Mail (PT)
16315/Bengaluru City-Kochuveli Express (PT)
What does “PT” mean?

It is appalling to note that the quality of services offered by IR have not improved despite the fare hike. The sole objective of any fare hike is to improve the quality and comfort of travel. But time and time again, it is felt that the same old coaches with the usual problem of “supply-less” charger sockets are meted out to passengers. We don’t mind paying even the bus fares prevailing now. But, the quality of service offered by IR has to be improved.
I had commuted two times between SBC and KCVL back and forth (16315 and 16316 respectively) in the month of June. Every time I travelled, I observed that

the charger socket is not working. Also, there would be no water in the taps after about ten hours after the train has started. I am pretty sure that IR is purposely disconnecting the supply to the sockets in the light of recent fire that set a train ablaze. If it is so, why couldn’t they issue a statement? Why are they pestering us underhand? Moreover, as one of the members pointed out, the curtains of 3AC have also been removed for the same reason. But there is no official documentation (who boasts about documentation for settling any disputes concerning IR) regarding the same.
Each time there is a fare hike or something of that matter, people yearn for some improvement in quality and comfort. But day by day, IR is disappointing passengers by showing their dark side. It is degrading each day. What is the solution for this murky cesspool?
