It was my first witness to monorail and ride in it as well.. as its only operational monorail in India.

On 2nd time i travel it from Dadar East to Chembur (long route) just after 1 months from 1st ride..

Pros
1. Its good to have other transport system in Mumbai as its really needed not everyone wish to travel in mumbai local & hussle
2. Its like metro system safe, good, affordable & justified price
3. Peaceful service in the chaos of city like mumbai
4. Connects directly major areas
5. Beep beep noise & traffic jam is not a problem here, thats most better thing

Cons
1. Not too much comfortable as its like humpy dumpy ride
2. Its not fastest service as it has many sharp curves, low speed, and very less frequency
3. Govt didn't extend the line and didn't construct other phases which leads to less network , less commuter hence got flop during non peak hours, in evening in peak hours has very decent pax
4. Less awareness among people as majority is reliable on locals due to cheapest, fastest and better connectivity, however non local people who knew that mumbai has monorail connecting these areas may use the service as not everybody really likes crowded locals

Mumbai will get operational metro with International Level of transport system same as Delhi has..


I just wish to travel in it & i did.. thats it it was not even on my destination place but still i did..
I took cab from catering college to dadar to travel in this till chembur then took 2 locals for vidya vihar..
And on 1st ride i just took it for round trip as wish to see the monorail and timepass for 1 hour.. 😂

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) may claim that the Wadala-Chembur Monorail corridor is getting a good response, but the numbers reveal that the line is operating at a loss.
While tickets rake in Rs. 2 lakh every day, it takes Rs. 7 lakh per day to operate the Monorail. That's a loss of Rs. 5 lakh per day, which works out to Rs. 1.5 crore a month.
