Very good step. Such track geometry improvements, are required throughout the length & breadth of IR network. But such activities are a costly affair and take a very long time. Such activity have to be planned in advance to coincide with the routine & scheduled maintenance of track inorder to optimise the cost and inconvenience. Such activities shall hopefully be done to other sections of IR (9 identified SHS sections +NDLS-MUM/HWH) as well. Poor financial condition is playing spoil sport to the introduction of SHS trains on IR, as Rly Ministry never had such level of intention & commitment towards increasing the speed of Indian trains in past.

more... Prabhu shall not be able to achieve the targeted 25kmph jump in Express and Freight train by the end of his tenure, but definitely shall lay the foundation for speedier trains on IR track in future.
